This is not generic tutoring

One exam, one date. Everything points at it.

Generic tutoring teaches maths in general. This prepares your child for one specific exam on one specific date: the question types it uses, the timing it punishes, and the test craft most prep never touches.

1

Small group, plus one-on-one every week

A weekly group class (capped at four students) on a weekday evening sets the pace. A weekly one-on-one clinic on the weekend closes your child's individual gaps before they widen.

2

A custom homework engine

Homework is built from your child's actual errors each week and drilled with spaced repetition. No two students get the same sheet.

3

Writing marked every single week

Writing is the section most tutors skip because it's slow to mark. Every student's writing gets marked weekly, with specific feedback, not a vague "good job."

4

Constant testing, constant feedback

Regular timed practice under real exam conditions, plus direct updates so you always know exactly where your child stands. You see scores, not vibes.

5

Exam strategy

Pacing, elimination, educated guessing, decision making under the clock. Nothing lifts test day performance like training on the test itself.

6

School strategy

GATE, PSA and AAS scholarships all work differently. Part of the program is working out which tests and which schools actually fit your child.

It comes down to a set of skills. Here's what we teach.

The test ultimately comes down to a bunch of specific skills. We teach those skills directly and break them down, rather than teaching "maths" and "English" in general.

Early results

What the first term actually looked like

This is a pilot cohort, so treat this as early results, not a long track record. Here's the honest picture.

3 of 4

students improved their overall score in their first term. The cohort averaged about 30% growth from their baseline to their final mock.

~47%

average improvement in Reading score. Every single student in the cohort improved here, no exceptions.

Common questions

Before you reach out

What is ASET, GATE, or a scholarship exam?
ASET is the exam that decides entry into WA's selective public programs (GATE), including Perth Modern. Private schools run their own scholarship exams, worth up to 100% off six years of fees. Almost all of them are sat at the start of Year 6, and applications close earlier than most parents expect. If any of this is new to you, message and I'll walk you through the whole system.
Why not just go to a big tutoring centre?
At a large centre your child is one of twenty doing the same worksheet. Here the class is capped at four, homework is rebuilt around your child's actual errors every week, and you have a real number to call or text. See the full comparison above.
What year level is this for?
The core program is built for Year 5 students sitting Year 7 entry exams. For Term 4 we're open to enquiries from other year levels too, while we gauge demand.
Is Year 5 too early to start?
The tests are sat at the start of Year 6, and private school application lists close more than a year ahead. Year 5 is not early. It's the window.
Where are classes held?
In person in Perth, with a weekly group class on a weekday evening and a weekly individual clinic on the weekend. Message for the current location and times.
Is there a sibling or referral discount?
Yes. Current families get referral cash back for every family they bring on board, including siblings. Full details are on the current clients page.
